Taking your fly fishing to the next level

NB. This product may not play in Canada or USA

Join actor Dean Andrews (Life on Mars/Ashes to Ashes) with professional guide and six times English national rivers champion John Tyzack (AAPGAI) for a full year of grayling fishing.

Autumn sees JT and Deano Czech nymphing on the Derbyshire Rivers Wye and Derwent. Two feet of snow and sub-zero temperatures don’t deter the guys as they target tightly shoaled winter fish on Sheffield’s urban River Don.

In a spring time return to the urban Don JT shows Deano the trio technique for search fishing just a few days before the end of the grayling season.
On their summer outing JT takes Deano in search of a personal best stalking fish on Driffield Beck; a northern chalk stream famous for its crystal clear water and specimen grayling.

In addition to fantastic fishing, out-takes and tackle selection John demonstrates in detail how to tie his entire grayling fly box selection.

Excellent production, really informative and I´m chuffed that there´s some fly tying included too. Learned loads from watching you guys fish the different conditions presented.
Truly inspired now to catch more grayling. Many thanks.

A great and enjoyable production
30 June 2011  |

Just watched the most recent episode in the river academy series “Grayling Through The Year”.

A great and enjoyable production that really opened my eyes to the behaviour of the grayling fish. John Tyzack proves once again just why he’s achieved many fishing titles by telling Dean Andrews many different techniques he uses, along with constant information and tutoring regarding grayling captures and behaviour. His methods are proven live, right in front of your eyes seconds after hes told you, amazing. Some beautiful filming capturing the wonderful rivers in the different seasons and of course the usual laddish banter that makes this an episode not to be missed.

Dean is really starting to shine by showing his retention of the knowledge gained from John and this in itself shows how anyone can also employ the same or similar techniques whilst fishing for grayling. Loved the bit about correct rod handling that when immediatly employed enabled Dean to retain his captures and just how placid the grayling can be by immediate takes right where they were walking moment previous. Great fly guide included in the DVD cover to help the novice and seasoned fly fisherman and as with previous episodes an in depth video guide to the flies used and how to tie your own.

I personally cant wait for the next instalment of this popular series to add to my collection. Another great job!

It does not disappoint
18 June 2011  |

I’ve been waiting for this for so, so long after been told about it’s conception.
It does not disappoint.

Yet again the standard of production and content keep you watching.
What a win, win format, easy to follow, but enough technical information to get the beginner engaged and give the more experienced angler the reinforcement and insight to take their ability that stage further.
With the locations and skills shared I will be looking forward to a great 2011 season.
The team have done another great job.

Thank you JT and co for sharing some of the best with us.
