Drab Pink Shrimp - A classic fly from our "Grayling Through the Year" DVD; this Gammarus imitation works well as a middle dropper or change fly when the fish don't seem too keen on the brighter shrimps JT's tying of this fly has a little more complexity in the ribbing, as two ribs are used, but give it a try – it’s not as hard as it sounds! (Rib the wire through the squirrel then rib the shellback with the mono) Tip: It's handy to have a few variations in colour with this pattern; try different dubbing colours and different shellback colours. As JT says... "grayling are suckers for a change"... changing fly colour or size can get you catching again when the takes dry up. The dubbing colour shown is "Squirrel Grey"... a favourite with all the Fish On team. Hook: Fish On Curved Thread: Fish On UTS (colour to match dubbing) Underbody: Lead wire Dubbing: Fish On Nymph Bug Caddis (NBC) dubbing Shellback: Fish On Shimmer-Back (braided) Rib 1: Fish On Coloured Wire Rib 2: Clear monofilament (0.16mm) | | |
