JT Flashback (white bead)
Saturday, 2 November 2013 | JP

JT's famous Flashback nymph was originally tied with a body of natural grey squirrel but with the addition of the Nymph Bug Caddis (NBC) dubbing to the Fish On range a whole range of colour possibilities has opened up. JT says "NBC dubbing has all the aspects I like about natural grey squirrel; that spiky leg-like effect - but in an easy to dub material with a hint of synthetic flash mixed in. With a wide range of colours it's the perfect dubbing for all nymphs, bugs and caddis!" Deano's ubiquitous favourite is a white bead variant. This makes an excellent "change fly" for when the takes dry up but can also be the go-to pattern for pressured venues. Most anglers know that grayling are suckers for a fly with a "hot-spot" splash of colour but sometimes a bright fly can spook a wary fish - the white bead offers the perfect blend of high visibility while not being so out of place as to put nervous fish off.Hook: Fish On Curved (size 12 standard) Bead: Fish On countersunk tungsten (3.0mm white) Underbody: Lead wire (optional) Thread: Fish On UTS Dubbing: Fish On NBC (colour shown is Pale Grey) Flashback: Pearl mylar tinsel (#14) Rib: Fish On Wire (silver) | | |
